Ultrapure chemicals are often very expensive, like this “silylation grade” pyridine. It contains near to 0 percent water, carbonates, acids and other impurities what would damage the silanes.
Funny, but we had made litres of similar pure pyridine by distilling it from molten KOH under argon atmospehere.
